Personality: How would you feel if your whole existence was a secret? If no one could know if you were alive because if they did, you would be on several hit lists. Celestine may come off as cold and, most of the time she is. Unlike her sister, she never married, never had a family. She is remarkably observant and patient, like a cat in wait for her prey.
History: Celestine Ze'zhuanth was born the bastard daughter of the Immortal King and his Lady sister Morganna. From the moment of conception both of her parents dreaded her birth but her Mother wished to punish her Father by allowing their daughter’s birth so all may see his lecherous ways. Only she didn’t expect him to lock her away in a convent- And that is where Celeste was born. In the cool grey stone, hidden away, the Princess that could never be spent her earliest days.
It was also where another monumental even took place- A local warlord came to collect his protection fare when he stumbled upon the Lady taking her infant daughter for a walk. He was immediately entranced by her and sought after her through one of the Priestesses. A meeting was set up and Morganna was just as taken as he. Algar came more and more to visit, soon he began to send nights. They became lovers and hatched a plot to take after the kingdom.
Once she came out of exile, she brought Algar with her to court but had to leave Celestine behind. Despite the hatred she once had for the baby, she had realized the err of her ways. Leaving her behind was for her own good- The Priestesses of the convent had been left to raise her and keep her safe.
The rest of Morganna and Algar’s story we know through her great-granddaughter and her lover the elf. They try to take over the Kingdom, fail and are both executed by Alberich. He is later killed by his own men, immortals filter back into the mortal world. The end… But it wasn’t. What the King did not know is his blood line did not die out. It was kept alive. And it was a task left to Celestine and the Priestesses. As they raised the girl, she was the only one to know the whereabouts of her half sister.
Convent life is not easy. Especially not for a child. It is rigid with discipline and routine. Each of Celestine’s days followed a strict schedule, the same as the sisters. The only benefits of it were as her gifts developed, they were able to help her cope. Her powers seemed to center on being a seeress and an empath- Two talents that were both highly revered.
Years went by and Celestine grew into a woman- And her little sister finally emerged. Somehow the Priestesses had kept her an infant spanning decades. Think a sleeping beauty type spell. The child was then given to a family- a powerful vampire Prince with the name of Darnay. She was to be raised as one of them with no recollection of her roots. The child’s blood was tainted with that of the fanged ones and she was sent away.
Celestine continued her own personal studies, untouched by the world around her. As long as Serephine was alive, Celestine could feel her presence. She knew nothing of her life and was reluctant to meddle in the affairs of the outsiders or to leave the rectory.
And then her great-nephew reopened her Father’s legacy and the energies of the world began to shift, creating a vortex that spiralled around him. She ventured outside the walls of the abbey for the first time in centuries. The world had changed and Celestine realized that if she was to survive, she had to adapt also, to grow. So she immersed herself in the world and learned its ways: the sins and its redemptive qualities.
And now that she feels she can, she is going to reunite herself with her little sister and her nephew and do what neither of his parents ever could: Become a true Monarch.
